Romantic, Floral-Filled Wedding at The Garden at Elm Bank

Sarah and Dan have such a fun love story! Elegant Aura had the honor of planning their outdoor summer wedding at The Garden at Elm Bank in July 2023. Today, we’re excited to share the highlights from this memorable celebration.

A mutual friend introduced Sarah and Dan at Harpoon Brewery on St. Patrick’s Day in 2018. They hit it off immediately and spent the entire day together, but Dan forgot to ask for Sarah’s number. Fast forward a couple weeks, and Sarah was determined to see Dan again. So, she turned to the dating apps to find him. Amazingly, she was successful! After finally exchanging numbers, the pair started going on dates and made their relationship official a few months later.

After spending four incredible years exploring the Boston food scene, traveling the world, and quarantining together, Dan was ready to ask Sarah to marry him in May 2022. He convinced Sarah that they were spending the evening watching the Celtics game but tricked her into a walk through the Boston Public Gardens under the guise of grabbing pre-game margaritas. With the gorgeous view of the lake and swan boats in the distance, Dan got on one knee and popped the question. Sarah was completely surprised—and of course, she said yes!

Jewish Wedding at The Garden at Elm Bank

To pay tribute to their Jewish heritage, Sarah and Dan incorporated many beloved” Sarah and Dan incorporated many beloved cultural traditions into their wedding day. They had their first look amid the blossoming summer gardens, followed by a ketubah signing attended by their closest family members. Afterward, they exchanged vows under a chuppah in front of the garden’s beautiful stone fountain. Just before they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, Dan observed the famous “breaking the glass” tradition!

The couple also observed Jewish traditions at their reception, namely the Hora dance. The high-energy routine, fueled by the joy of the occasion, set the tone for an evening of dancing and laughter. It was one of the most fun moments of the day, captured perfectly by Lindsey Nicole Photography.

Romantic Summer Wedding Details

For their wedding theme, the couple envisioned a romantic atmosphere with abundant floral elements to complement the garden venue. Elegant Aura helped them achieve that vision with our planning and design services! We partnered with Kerianne Nelson Flora, a trusted New England wedding florist, to create a wildly romantic design perfect for the summer outdoor setting.

At their ceremony, the couple exchanged vows underneath a lush archway covered with pink and white roses. Later, we repurposed the same installation to create a jaw-dropping entrance into the tented reception. Meanwhile, greenery garlands hanging from the ceiling brought the outdoors in and added a touch of whimsy.

However, that wasn’t the only special touch on the tent ceiling. The bride also wanted an impactful statement piece in the reception space, which we accomplished by hanging a cluster of mirror balls and crystal orbs over the dance floor. It was such a fun addition to the design, especially when it came time for the Hora dance!
