A Summer Wedding at the deCordova Museum

Elegant Aura planned and designed this Boston area summer wedding at the deCordova Museum.

Claire and Josh met at a social gathering at a local boathouse (where there ultimately held their rehearsal dinner) and just hit it off.  They envision a fun, beautiful and intimate wedding.  As a result, it was a day for everyone to enjoy and celebrate with family and friends.  Above all, we kept the day true to their vision, understated but personal.

WEDDING RECEPTION FOOD

Saltbox Catering designed the perfect summer, family-style feast.  The menu included local and seasonal ingredients. For visual interest, we use a mix of round and rectangular tables. As a result, we were able to add solid linens and a patterned table runner on wooden farm tables to elevate the design.

WEDDING RECEPTION FLOWER DÉCOR

Poppy Floral provided the flowers. Flowers were organically designed, not tight or composed.  Reception centerpieces were kept low and minimal. Therefore, the arrangements did not disrupt the conversation or family-style dinner service.

SUMMER WEDDING COLOR PALETTE

The color palette was fresh and bright. We incorporated blues, whites, and lavender colors in the florals and table décor.

Soul City band performed live music all night. The guests received Tazo candy bars as favors.  In addition, the bride’s mother surprised all with Roxy’s Grilled Cheese.  The food truck awaited the reception departure with a choice of sandwiches for a takeaway late-night snack.
